Workshop leader: Elspeth Walker
Haiku is an ancient poetry form from Japan. Each poem has a distinct structure of three lines, with five syllables in the first line, seven in the second, and five in the third. Haiku poems often depict a moment in time, and are traditionally about nature and the seasons, which is where we will draw our influence from for this session.
Exploring a range of old and contemporary examples, this workshop invites anyone to explore the world of Haiku and develop some of their own!
All levels of entry welcomed, and materials provided but please bring a notebook if you want.
