Torriano's resident theatre company is The New Factory Of The Eccentric Actor. It was formed in 1996 with the aim of staging theatrical work in spaces not usually used for theatre. It was inspired by the orginal Fabrika Ekstsentricheskogo Aktera – the original Factory of the Eccentric Actor founded in 1922 in the Soviet Union.
The company has staged more than 50 plays and events over the course of 27 years…
Bruin's Ruin (Neil Rogers and Jan Lawrence) are core members of the Unity Folk Club that meets monthly at Torriano. The club has it's beginnings in the late 40s at Unity Theatre, the left-wing theatre in Mornington Crescent that specialised in socialist theatre, famous for its political pantomimes and living newspapers and for being at the heart of the militant national theatre movement in the 1930s.
