In 2019, Ben Leo Hollis set out from Leicester, UK on his bike, with his tent and his camera, intent on going to visit his dad's side of the family for the first time, after they moved to Australia when he was a child. On his way, over the next thirteen months, he travelled through thirty-one countries, taking his time, and taking every opportunity to stop, talk, and share smiles and photos with people along the road. Thirty One Spokes illuminates the people, places and stories that he encountered on the way.
Ben raised money for three charities through this solo trip, focussed on tackling tropical deforestation, combating islamophobia in the UK, and promoting girls education.
